Dragon Quest World started out as Dragon Warrior World in 1997 on America Online. The website provided some liks of other sites. Then after that the website moved to www.geocities.com where it is currently. It provided two to three different website layouts over the years.

Then years later, the website began hosting fanfiction and website layouts. And in 2008, Dragon Warrior World purchased a domain and changed the name of the website to Dragon Quest World since the "Dragon Warrior" moniker no longer exists. Today, Dragon Quest World continues to provide information about Dragon Quest to fans.
